Humble Sticks Walking Sticks By Bill Schober
I am not a humble man, but with all humility I can honestly say that I carve beautiful walking sticks. So I call them Humble Sticks.
Six years ago I decided to build a CNC machine. After six months of research I came up with my own design and started to build it. My CNC machine is basically a computer controlled wood router. Two years ago I built a Rotary Axis for my machine which allows me to turn a long square piece of wood into a tapered dowel. I then can cut any text in almost any type font into the dowel with a 45 degree V shaped bit. I then sand, stain & seal, sand again, clear coat, attach a cast brass Hame Topper with three brass screws and put a rubber cane foot on it. Since all of my walking sticks are custom made they take two weeks to make for you. Cast Brass Hame Toppers
Hames, a pair of curved metal (or sometimes wooden) pieces lying on the horse collar of a horse harness, taking the pull from the traces.
A Hame Topper goes on the ends of the hames.
These are thick cast brass and they are also available with chrome plating.
(I think that the brass is much better looking next to wood.)

The Serenity Stick is made from red oak with a cast brass Hame Topper attached with three brass screws. It has the entire Serenity Prayer carved into it, though any custom text may be used. It can be up to 44.25" long.
